Marcel Breuers - Whitney - New York

The massing of the Whitney produces a really interesting spatial condition of separated mass, almost like a cruise ship standing at a peer.

This is produced by the stepped floorplates, that open up the huge - moat like - gap and the s
culptural entrance bridge, emphasizing the transition into the museum.

This could be a interesting way to separate the museum from the mass of hotels surrounding my site.

The field of lamps in the lobby is
also stunning.
