Pattern through simliar ellements
Using a glossy or reflective component to populate a complete surface can produce different visual effects depending on the angle of sight. This is somewhat interesting for my project, since the topography of the site automatically produces a lot of different view angles.
The downside of this is that this method mostly produces very closed off and massive looking volumes.

Marcel Breuers - Whitney - New York
The massing of the Whitney produces a really interesting spatial condition of separated mass, almost like a cruise ship standing at a peer.
This is produced by the stepped floorplates, that open up the huge - moat like - gap and the sculptural entrance bridge, emphasizing the transition into the museum.
This could be a interesting way to separate the museum from the mass of hotels surrounding my site.
The field of lamps in the lobby is also stunning.
